ABOUT US

We are told as Christians we need to read the Bible and pray every day. Have you ever been discouraged attempting this goal? Have you ever felt like you wanted to study but for some reason you couldn’t understand what the Bible was saying? Where do I start? Do I start at the beginning and read straight through like a novel? How long do I study? Should I take notes? What if I have questions or just don’t understand what God’s Word is saying?

Hands on Ministry was born out of years of encountering others who were frustrated with their personal study of God’s Word. We have developed techniques that allow the Holy Spirit to show us what God’s Word says.

We desire to see people study the Word of God for themselves and to

have success in understanding what God is saying to them on a personal level.

We use some simple tools that help you slow down and spend time thinking more about what the scripture actually says. In the end, you have a better understanding of the message God has given.

Over and over I hear from those who use this method that they are blessed because they understand more and more what the Bible is teaching them. They have developed a hunger for the Word of God and eagerly search out what God is saying through study.

Below I have laid out briefly how Hands on Ministry works. May we always remember it is the Holy Spirit who teaches us. As we spend more time in His Word we will grow in our maturity and unity of faith.

    • We use chronological studies because they help keep the Word in context and the flow of events is easier to understand. We see a bigger picture of what actually happened. So far, we have developed three series

o “Chronological study of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John” which blends all four Gospels together

o “Paul’s letters to the early Christians” starting with Galatians and finishing up with 2 Timothy

o “The Acts of the Holy Spirit” which details the working of the Holy Spirit in the book of Acts

o “Chronological study of the Old Testament” starting with Genesis

    o  "Holiness Study

We also have beginner’s studies which are designed to be done in a study group.

    o Gospel of John

    o Romans

    o James

    • We find Key Words that also help us understand the meanings and importance of repeated words. We use colored pencils to mark keywords that make them stand out and easier to locate within the text.

    • We use maps located to find areas, cities, and countries mentioned within the text.

    • The homework is not overwhelming so you have the time to actually do the study. The questions that are asked always direct you back to the text you are studying. Truth comes from the Word of God. To find that truth helps build your spiritual maturity. It also keeps us in the text of scripture instead of in the questions. We emphases studying the context of scripture for a better understanding of the Word. You will notice that as you spend time every day reading and meditating in God’s Word this encourages spiritual maturity. The longer you stay in the Word the better your opportunity to have those moments when the Word just seems to leap out at you. We call those times WOW Moments!

    • We use the inductive method of study which asks who, what, when, where, why and how as we study. Have you ever read a paragraph and then thought…what did I just read? As we engage our minds by asking questions while reading it will help us to understand the passage better.

    • Last but not least is prayer. We always take the time to pray. Why? Because God desires to be in relationship with us and when we pray, praise and worship Him He showers us with Himself in peace, comfort and will strengthen us with the Holy Spirit. Prayer time is very important in this type of study. We always thank God for what He is teaching us as He draws us closer to Himself through the Word. We pray out loud in thanksgiving and in requests.

My heart’s desire is to develop Bible Study material that will enable the student to find success and to foster a hunger for God’s Word.

I truly believe that

“The Word of God is powerful. When we let it wash over us we are forever changed!”
