Are you In or Out?

Phil 3:1 tells us to “Rejoice in the Lord”. What does that mean? As you take a closer look at the phrase “Rejoice IN the Lord” it reveals so much. We are being asked by the author Paul to not rejoice in our circumstances BUT to Rejoice IN the Lord……

What does that look like? How do we Rejoice IN the Lord? I believe we are to dwell on WHO the Lord is and WHAT He has done for us.

He has given us a place to belong….IN Him.

He has forgiven our sins…….

He has adopted us into His family.

He has given us HOPE in our future.

He has promised us that He will never leave us or cast us aside.

Our part? Take Him at His Word and believe Him. He has done the work FOR us on the cross by taking our place. Can that knowledge be enough to cause us to REJOICE IN HIM?

Ponder what He has done for you, and I believe it can help IN the dark times.

As you finish up this verse in Philippians 3:1 you will note that it says that Rejoicing in the Lord is a SAFEGUARD for us……. not only doing the action of Rejoicing because of a sense of obligation BUT it is a protection for those times when you go through the tough stuff. You can choose to Rejoice IN the Lord no matter what you may find yourself going through. It gives you the perspective of your hope, your security, and your place in Christ Jesus. Rejoice IN the Lord….I say it again Rejoice!
